At Northern Neck Insurance Company (NNIC), our goal is to professionally and respectfully serve the property and casualty insurance needs of our policyholders. If you are not an applicant or a current NNIC policyholder, then the only terms of this Privacy Notice that apply to you are those contained within our Website Usage Policy.

  • Tax Id Number

  • Drivers’ License

  • Information prepared by third parties (like a consumer report)

  • To another insurance company or an insurance agent if it’s reasonably necessary to perform an insurance transaction or to detect or prevent fraud or criminal activity

  • To a medical provider under certain limited circumstances, such as to verify insurance coverage

  • To an insurance regulatory agency

  • To a law enforcement or other government authority upon their request or to help prevent fraud or crime

  • To a party performing actuarial or research studies, provided they do not identify you in any report

  • To a group policyholder for their performance of an audit or review

  • Your information may be transferred to third parties in connection with the sale of NNIC or the acquisition of another entity by NNIC

  • “Financial Information” which is anything “from which judgments can be made about an individual’s character, habits, avocations, finances, occupation, general reputation, credit, heath, or any personal characteristics.” This includes the following:

    • Name

    • Address

    • Automobile and Drivers’ license information

    • Insurance claim information

  • We may disclose medical records to outside counsel or 3rd party medical professionals for NNINS as part of the claims process

  • Data Encryption: All personal data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption protocols

  • The right to correct, amend, or delete your information

    • If you submit a written request to (nninfo@nnins.com) to correct, amend, or delete any of your personal information that we have, then within 60 business days we will either comply with your request, or notify you of any reason we cannot comply, as well as information about how you can provide a statement about the disputed information that will become part of your file

  • You have the right to opt out of our disclosure of your information to our affiliates - however in this event we will no longer be able to service your account. We will abide by the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the policy which may include denial of insurance benefits. Your account may also be canceled or non-renewed.

Social Security Protection Policy Statement

We’re committed to complying with all legal and contractual duties regarding the confidentiality of Social Security numbers. We protect the confidentiality of Social Security numbers by disclosing them only as permitted by law.
