Community Grants

One of the ways NNINS helps to build a healthy and thriving community is through its grant program, offered once a year (*twice in 2021). To apply for a grant under the Community Giving Team guidance, APPLY HERE.

Grant Priorities

NNINS supports organizations that align with our brand and business mission, including those that support and promote:

  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Safe and Affordable Housing
  • Virginia Families (education, health and wellness, etc.)
  • Community Safety
  • Emergency Response
  • Virginia History and Culture  
  • Virginia’s Natural Environment 

How to Apply

Download and fill out a Grant Proposal Form and submit by the appropriate deadline; completed forms can be emailed to Mike Antonio at


The first round (May 15th) of grants is closed. For the second round, applications must be received by November 15, 2021.


Must be a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) organization or agency serving residents of Virginia

Not Eligible

  • Recipients who received any financial support from NNINS the previous two years
  • Religious organizations
  • Organizations or projects that discriminate against individuals based on race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual preference
  • Organizations or projects that are considered to be in direct competition with NNINS
  • Political organizations or candidates
  • Individuals

Grant Amount

Grants typically range from $1,000 to $5,000.


Submit a Grant Proposal form between October 15–November 15, with grant to be awarded December 1. (For FY2020, submit your Grant Proposal between April 15–May 15, with grants to be awarded June 1, 2021).
