Community Grants - 2022

Northern Neck Insurance is proud to announce recipients of their Community Grants for 2022.

"As a Virginia-only company, NNINS believes in the power of helping our fellow Virginians. Our community giving program expands our reach in other positive ways above and beyond just insurance," says Mike Antonio, NNINS Creative Director and head of the Community Giving Program. “One of our core values is building strong communities, not only in the Northern Neck but throughout the state. We're glad we’re in a position to help so many people, as well as bring recognition to some of the positive work other Virginians are doing around the state."

For the initial round of community grants, organizations applied through the NNINS website between October 15-November 15. The Community Giving Team voted for recipients and determined the allocation of funds. This year's winners were announced on Giving Tuesday.

Summer Grace Foundation/Rockstar Warriors (Manassas, VA) – Music therapy program for pediatric oncology patients.

VersAbility Resources (Hampton, VA) – Supporting people with disabilities in leading productive lives of their choosing and as fully accepted members of society.

Healthy Families Rappahannock Area (Fredericksburg, VA) – Providing home visiting services to equip parents vulnerable to poor parenting behaviors, and low maternal and child health outcomes, with the support they need to develop safe and loving homes by reducing risk factors and building protective factors within the family.

Jones Gardens (Staunton, VA) – Increasing affordable access to fresh produce by creating community garden parks.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library-Spotsylvania (Fredericksburg, VA) – A book gifting program that mails one book every month to registered children from the time they are born until they turn 5.

In addition to Northern Neck’s Community Grants, the entire company voted for the beneficiary of their annual donation that comes from the Employees Charitable Giving Fund, managed at RCCF. This year’s recipient is Addy’s Colors, who’s dedicated to helping families affected by the loss of a child, or dealing with a terminal illness.

Northern Neck Insurance’s next community grant cycle will open this fall. Readers are encouraged to visit their website at www.nnins.com/community for more information.
