SUMMARY
The Systems/Network Administrator is a motivated, technically diverse, and well-organized individual with the flexibility to quickly adapt to changing priorities in a complex enterprise systems environment. This individual will work closely with the Network Manager as a part of the technical team to achieve corporate growth objectives by ensuring secure and efficient systems operation, technical resilience and continuous availability. To be successful this administrator will demonstrate the technical skill to carry out the duties and responsibilities listed herein and embrace the challenges of emerging technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain network resources, including configuration of network switches, server hardware, VoIP
- systems, operating systems, applications and services in a wired and wireless environment
- Maintain and improve system operations and provide support to network users
- Upgrade server operating systems and applying patches to mitigate vulnerabilities
- Configure and maintain network components to ensure security, connectivity and access
- Reconfigure network equipment as necessary to handle environmental changes
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems. Escalating issues with broader implications for entire network to Network Manager
- Administer servers both in a Virtual and Physical environment
- Administer Backups & replication of servers both in a Virtual and Physical environment
- Administer Site replication both locally and over WAN
- Administer Office 365 and Entra environments
- Administer Storage solutions
- Utilize monitoring tools to capture and analyze traffic, maintaining uptime, generating usage reports, and spotting trends
- Create and maintain documentation and diagrams as needed when assets are added or removed
- Support VOIP telecom environments including performing adds/moves/changes of phone equipment and configurations. Provide users with network technical support; user environments, and servers for required applications.

Preferred Experience
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft; Server/desktop operating systems, Office 365, Active Directory and Entra Administration
- Working knowledge and hands on experience in systems administration and supporting operations in a blended virtual enterprise and cloud environment
- Experience with network administration skills including security, back-up and recovery, and capacity planning
- Performs systems administration and capacity planning including upgrading hardware, storage capacity, and optimizing resources
- Experience with multi-function copy/print/scan devices
- Supporting users across multiple geographically distant locations, including remote VPN connections
- Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, Access Control Lists, and understanding of security implications
- Understanding and experience with multi-factor authentication and its role in organizational security
- Installation and configuration of network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, cameras, etc
- Knowledge and experience supporting Windows Server and Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- Experience supporting a Remote Desktop Services environment
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, and Office 365 Environments.
- Providing helpdesk and technical support services to end users for supported systems and applications
- Training end users online of business applications, both locally and remotely
- Ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple trouble tickets
- Installing and troubleshooting Endpoint Security software, Remote Management and Monitoring tools, etc
- Knowledge of backup and recovery software, methodologies, and best practices
- Developing and maintaining documentation, training materials, and inventory of IT assets
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or technical training in the field of computer science or equivalent experience
- Work experience: 5+ years of related network and systems experience
- Microsoft or equivalent professional certifications preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing this job, the employee is required to see, sit, stand, walk, be flexible enough to access tight spaces such as under desks and behind office furniture, talk, listen, type, and lift heavy objects related to computer equipment, such as monitors weighing as much as 50 lbs.

In order to fulfill the demands of this service-oriented department, the individual must be self-motivated, highly dependable, flexible, action-oriented and able to work occasional overtime on nights and weekends as necessary.

- Computer room environment usually has a moderate noise level and cooler than normal temperatures.
