Position Summary
The IT Agile Analyst is a key member of the Scrum Delivery Team, partnering closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions. This role blends business analysis, quality analysis, and Agile practices to help translate business needs into well-defined user stories and ensure solutions are thoroughly tested and ready for production.
The Agile Analyst adds value by solving business problems through collaboration, critical thinking, and effective communication in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Role Focus
The Agile Analyst II independently performs business analysis and quality analysis activities and serves as a trusted partner to Product Owners, developers, and business stakeholders. This role balances analysis, testing, and delivery responsibilities across moderately complex initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently gather, analyze, and document business requirements as user stories with acceptance criteria
- Actively partner with Product Owners during backlog refinement and sprint planning
- Perform functional testing and coordinate User Acceptance Testing with business SMEs
- Identify process gaps and recommend workflow improvements
- Support software promotion activities through test and production environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues of moderate complexity
- Contribute meaningfully to retrospectives and continuous improvement efforts
Scope & Complexity
- Manages multiple work items or features simultaneously
- Exercises judgment in analysis and testing approaches
- Begins mentoring Agile Analyst I team members

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business & Agile Analysis
- Collaborate with business leaders, stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define and analyze business needs
- Elicit, document, and refine requirements in the form of user stories with acceptance criteria
- Partner with Product Owners to support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and prioritization activities
- Work with developers and technical resources to ensure shared understanding of requirements and solution design
- Identify gaps in business processes and recommend improvements, including workflow optimization
- Create and maintain functional documentation, process flows, and UI mockups as needed
- Assist with system configuration and design decisions based on business requirements
Quality Analysis & Testing
- Develop test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases for manual and automated testing
- Perform preliminary system and functional testing prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Coordinate and support UAT with business stakeholders and SMEs
- Validate, document, and track test results and defects through resolution
- Partner with development and QA resources to ensure solutions meet functional and quality standards
Delivery & Support
- Support the software promotion process from development through test environments into production
- Troubleshoot, document, and resolve application issues reported through service tickets
- Provide post-deployment support and knowledge transfer to business users and SMEs
- Participate in sprint reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives
Product & Team Support
- Assist Product Owners and Product Managers with product changes, release planning, and delivery timelines
- Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional Agile team, contributing to shared ownership and team accountability
- Support Agile best practices and help teams continuously improve delivery effectiveness
Team Collaboration & Agile Culture
- Actively participate as a collaborative member of a cross‑functional Scrum Delivery Team, contributing to shared team goals and sprint commitments
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, QA resources, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery
- Foster open communication, transparency, and mutual accountability within the team
- Contribute to sprint ceremonies including stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve team workflows, quality, and delivery effectiveness
- Embrace team‑based ownership, proactively assisting teammates and sharing knowledge to ensure overall team success
- Provide constructive feedback and receive feedback in a respectful, Agile manner to support individual and team growth
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery environment
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, user story writing, and acceptance criteria definition
- Experience with system testing, UAT coordination, and defect management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Experience working with external vendors or third-party software solutions
- Knowledge of business process modeling and workflow optimization
- Familiarity with automated testing concepts and tools
