  • Do I have Roadside Assistance on my auto policy?

    We are replacing 24/7 Roadside Assistance with Towing and Labor Coverage effective 4/19/24. Towing and Labor Coverage has a limit of $75 per occurrence. You may use the vendor of your choosing and submit a claim with your towing receipt for reimbursement. You also may elect to remove this coverage from your policy by contacting your independent agent. 

  • What coverages are included in my car insurance policy?

    Your car insurance policy may or may not include the following coverages:

    • Liability coverage: Medical costs due to injury or death and repair costs for property from a car crash you caused.

    • Uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage: Medical and repair costs from a car crash with an uninsured or underinsured driver.

    • Collision coverage: Repair expenses from car crashes regardless of who is at fault.

    • Comprehensive coverage: Repair costs from damage that occurred outside of your control, such as weather-related damage, theft, vandalism, and animal hits.

    • Liability Coverage or personal liability insurance refers to coverage in the case of bodily injury or property damage to other people (or their stuff) as a result of your actions - at your home, and anywhere else.

    • Medical payments coverage: Medical payments for you and your passengers regardless of who was at fault.

    • Personal injury coverage: Medical expenses, lost wages, childcare, funeral costs, and other expenses from a car crash regardless of who is at fault.

    • Loan/Lease coverage or gap insurance: The expense of the difference between your car’s true market value and what you owe on the car if the insurance carrier deems your car a total loss in a claim.

    • Towing and Labor coverage: An optional coverage to help cover expenses associated with common roadside breakdowns like a flat tire, running out of gas, or a dead battery.

  • What’s not covered by my car insurance?

    Damage caused by normal wear and tear, intentional damage from something like damage from a DUI, and damage that exceeds your limits of liability are all examples of things not covered by your car insurance. Your coverage also depends on whether or not you have full coverage car insurance which includes comprehensive car insurance.

  • Will my car insurance cover damage to my car if a tree falls on it?

    The damages can be covered if you purchased comprehensive coverage. You will be responsible for paying your deductible.

  • Is my car covered for hurricane damage or damage from severe weather?

    The damages can be covered if you purchased comprehensive coverage. You will be responsible for paying your deductible. This coverage also can include flood damage to your car.

  • Does car insurance cover water damage from rain?

    Car insurance can cover damage from rain from a single event like sudden severe weather if you have Comprehensive Car Insurance, but it won't cover damage from rain that is slow and cumulative due to leaks or lack of maintenance. .

  • Does car insurance cover animal damage?

    Car insurance can cover animal damage in certain circumstances such as animal collisions and interior damage and chewed wiring depending on what type of car insurance you have. Learn more

  • What is the advantage of leasing a car?

    The advantages of leasing a car can include lower monthly payments and covered repairs and maintenance by a manufacturers warranty. You may be able to afford a newer and safer vehicle by leasing and when your lease ends, you can return the car to the dealership. Cons include a higher overall cost, limited mileage, and more expensive parts that are not covered by the manufacturers warranty, such as tires.
