Safe&Sound: Hurricane Preparedness Resource Guide for Virginia
Sat Sep 09, 2017We know how scary hurricane season has been recently. It's been the source of worry and uncertainty for folks as they watch the news and forecasts unfold. NNINS has lived through Atlantic hurricane seasons since 1896. We're Virginians protecting Virginians. So we know a little bit about getting ready for a big storm. And we know there's a ton of information out there- some good, some not so good.
We hope our HURRICANE_PREPAREDNESS_GUIDE will help. We're providing sound resources from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), the Insurance Information Institute (III.org), and the American Red Cross. We want you and your family to prepare well, with the best information, for any future hurricane.
We also have good information that can answer questions you may have about insurance for flood damage, and preparing your roof, gutters, and trees for hurricane season. We know the risks for Virginia homes and property and encourage all of our members to have a home inventory to make any claims process run smoother. We also recommend calling or sitting down with your independent agent to review and understand your coverage regularly.
The bottom line- we're here for you! Let us know if we can help you in any way.
